What we do

We write, we staff writers, and we produce.

There are a thousand studios. Very few of them are built around the writing. We work in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, from Chennai and Hyderabad.

We write

Screenplay and additional screenplay for other productions. We are currently credited writers on a feature shooting now, and we develop our own features in-house.

We recruit and place screenwriters with directors and production companies who need them. A script that has stalled usually needs another writer, not another meeting.

We develop and produce our own low budget films at budgets that do not need a committee to approve them, which is the only reason an unusual script ever gets made.

Our story

How this started

It starts with Prithivi. He directed his first feature, Clap, a sports drama shot in Tamil and Telugu, scored by Ilaiyaraaja, released on SonyLIV. Aravind was associate director on the same film.

Aravind then went corporate, spending three years at Amazon Prime Video. From inside a platform you see how many films stall in the same place. Writers with something worth making and no way in. Productions with a script that needs another writer and nowhere to find one. Companies that wanted the screenplay but not the person who wrote it.

In 2025 they decided to build the company they kept wishing existed: one that writes for other productions, puts writers into the rooms that need them, and produces its own films.

Ingu Studios came out of that. A production house where the film starts with a writer, and the writer is still there at the end of it.

Directed Clap, a bilingual sports drama scored by Ilaiyaraaja and released on SonyLIV. Directs commercials, including a television campaign starring Shiva Rajkumar. Works across production, visual effects, cinematography and design.

Aravind Chandra

Worked in the direction departments of Clap and Sshhh. Writes the features Ingu develops in-house, and reads everything that comes through the door.
